ELECTRICAL RESISTIVITY TOMOGRAPHY (ERT)

The technique is a common method that utilises a pair of current and potential electrodes inserted in the near surface (up to 30cm). By measuring the electrical resistivity/conductivity between the potential electrodes, the apparent resistivity of the subsurface can be determined.

Terravision Exploration can implement different techniques that best meet the clients’ needs and aims.

By collating a large range of resistivity readings using different geometrical arrays a 2-dimensional profile of

the subsurface can be generated delineating the differences in water saturation, porosity and permeability,

facies and lithology changes and voids.

These can be further depicted as geological and geotechnical features.
